The Plan

Objective

To rebuild the Chevy so it will be reliable for cruising, weekend trips up to the Barossa and across to McLaren Vale wineries or out scouting timber for furniture, my other past time.

Drive Train

350 cubic inch Chev V8. Looking for best options in crate motors.

Turbo 400 box.

The new rear end is 9 inch Ford ex F100 Ford with Limited Slip centre. 3.25 ratio - good drivable ratio for some country cruising miles. The axles are 28 spline. Tail shaft will be custom made to fit?

Front End

A New JPS Mustang II Independent Front End.

5 x 4.5” Ford studs to match the new rear axle. Disc brakes. Manual right hand rack and pinion.

We will use the dropped option which will lower the truck by 2 inches.

Check it out here.

Rear End

New TCI rear leaf spring kit. Check it out here.

Paint Job

The plan is to leave the external paint as it arrived from America and give it a coat of clear.

The chassis, engine bay and inside of the cab will be painted with the original Neptune Green.

We are looking to use a Burgundy or original Coppertone colour for the upholstery.

Wheels

Still working on the final rims, but planning on using the Goodyear classic radial 75 series with white walls.
